Sunshine In A Photograph With My-Picture.co.uk

A room full of memories

I have always loved photography, and I’ve always loved having photographs around me. Even before I moved out of my parent’s house, I used to have many a framed photograph all around my room, filling any blank space with a memory or a moment in time. Things haven’t changed since I’ve grown up and got a home of my own, and of course, a family of my own.

My husband and I were perusing the walls of our living room the other day and I (half) jokingly commented that they are fast becoming a shrine to our little boy. We have photographs all over of him from when he was a tiny baby, just seconds old, up until a beautiful photograph taken just a couple of weeks ago. I know photos everywhere aren’t for everyone, but we love it and we are always moving things around and updating it so it stays lovely and fresh. We have a room full of memories and at the moment anyway, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

This most recent addition that I just mentioned is a photograph that I took when we visited Cotswold Lavender at the start of the school Summer holidays. I mentioned at the time that going to a lavender field is a bloggers rite of passage, and I wasn’t joking. They are the perfect place to go to get some stunning photos to keep forever and this occasion was no different. I knew as soon as my-picture.co.uk got in touch and asked if I would like to work with them, that it would be one of these photographs that I chose.

We have had an amazing Summer so far this year and so I knew I wanted to capture some of that sunshine in a photograph and bring a little sunlight into our living room. I had many pictures that I could have chosen but I think you will agree that the one I finally settled on, captures it perfectly.

All of the other framed pictures in our living room have black frames, so I was thrilled to discover that my-picture.co.uk have this style as an option. I have a few canvases too, but I knew this image, in particular, would really pop with a black frame and white border and I wasn’t wrong. I opted for the framed 60×40 print and I wasn’t disappointed.

The ordering process

The ordering process couldn’t have been simpler. You simply upload your chosen image and then decide what product you would like. My-picture.co.uk not only do framed prints and canvas prints but they also do wood, acrylic and aluminium to name but a few. They also do quirky products such as towels, blankets and cushions, along with photo gifts like mugs, phone cases and puzzles. You could have your favourite photo on anything your heart desires. It’s wonderful.

Once you have chosen your product, you go on to chose your format. This can vary depending on the item, but for the sake of this review, this is where I chose the size that I wanted. You can choose if you want to zoom the photograph in a bit, or if you want to drag it to centre it to your preference. At this stage, you will also choose your frame style and photograph effect, for example, if you want a black and white print.

That is all you have to do. Follow the checkout rules and your item will be with you in a matter of days. It really is that simple.

I am thrilled with my framed print. It brightens up the corner of the room beautifully with its vibrant summery colours. And what’s more, if you think you need a fancy camera to have stunning photos on your living room wall – think again. On the day in question, I forgot my camera and this was taken on an iPhone! I rest my case.

As a very keen photographer (and former pro) I love prints. Photographs deserve to be printed and not locked on hard drives.
