A Charm Bracelet With Meaning

I have owned a charm bracelet since I was tiny. So tiny in fact, it was a present bought for me for my christening. Let’s just say that charm bracelet is now thirty plus years old! Admittedly, I can’t wear it anymore. It’s a tad delicate to say the least and it’s so small, it no longer fits but it is most certainly something I will never get rid of.

My charm bracelet is sterling silver and has charms on it of Humpty Dumpty and a stork carrying a baby, to name a few. I can remember loving my bracelet when I was small and it used to only come out on special occasions such as Birthdays and Christmas. That made it all the more special.

Charm bracelets have become more fashionable in recent years and it’s nice to see that they have made a comeback. It’s lovely to see people wearing personal “charms”, that signify something important in the wearer’s life. It’s nice to see people carrying their memories around with them and when I see them, they always remind me of my own, despite me not being able to wear it anymore.

I’ve often thought about getting a replacement and having new memories on the new charm bracelet. In recent years I’ve done a lot of growing up and now have a child of my own, so there would be plenty of symbols to choose from. I took a look at the charms on Kigu of London to see if there were any that I liked.

I love this selection and it’s safe to say I have something to put on my Christmas list this year. And I love how you can add to them all the time and with each occasion, you get a new charm, a new memory gets added. I’m quite excited by the prospect.

Do you have a charm bracelet that holds a special meaning? I’d love to hear about it. Let me know in the comments.

These are lovely! I was never a Pandora fan but after we lost Oliver the funeral directors gave me a little fob with his footprint on and so I got a small bracelet to keep this on. I’ve added a few charms to it since. #triumphanttales

I love charm bracelets although I don’t have one. Perhaps it should be something for my Christmas list too! #TriumphantTales

  5. I have a Pandora bracelet and every charm holds a special memory – they have either been thoughtful gifts or ones bought to commemorate a special moment like the birth of my children. I can remember who gave me each one and what the occasion was! I can’t say that about many other gifts! These ones in your post look lovely, they also look like they might fit my bracelet too! #TriumphantTales

I am so pleased to see the return of charm bracelets and remember my late Mum’s with such affection. Goodness know where that went – so much of her jewellery disappeared after her death but I will rise above that. Lovely to see a giveaway too. #TriumphantTales

My Grandmother has one that my grandfather would add to it through the years. It’s really special to her.

I have a charm bracelet and whilst some of the charms were ones for my birthday or Christmas I have some that were bought for very special occasions – such as a teddy with a blue ribbon when Reuben was born, one that my mum and sister gave me as a hen party gift, the one Sam gave me on our wedding day and a matching bear with a pink ribbon when Jessica was born. Massive events in our live that I can wear on my wrist! #TriumphantTales

This has reminded me that Chris bought me a charm a couple of years ago but we never got around to buying me a bracelet to put it on! Will get looking for one… #triumphanttales
