Indoor Cycling

Cycling has been proven to be a great workout both inside and outside the gym. Many riders swear by the health benefits physically but also mentally. Cycling outdoors is loved by gym buffs and normal non-gym going civilians alike. Not only is it a great form of transportation, but it is a great way to take space away from home and bask in the fresh air.

With society changing drastically along with technology advances, many people are switching from traditional outdoor cycling for indoor cycling for ease. In today’s time, men and women are stay-at-home parents and perform many duties around the house to ensure all children are fed and taken care of, along with the cleanliness of the house.

Exercising outdoors is a luxury for most people as most find themselves buried in their work at home or the office. With the introduction of cycling indoors, people are making the switch to ensure the convenience of working out at home.

Bodyweight home exercises are another great way to keep your body moving. They work for most muscle groups, unlike machine exercises which can be boring after a while because they only target one or two areas at once. If you want even more of an intense cardio workout without leaving home then consider adding some weights into the mix! For example, squats will become much harder with a weight vest. Weighted vests used while doing lunges will feel completely different as well.

Cycling at home may not seem as advanced as cycling outdoors. Many people who haven’t tried this form of work out don’t feel as though it will give them the resistance they need to break a sweat. Websites like Get in wave shape can shut down these rumours faster than you can slam a door. Cycling bikes are much more different than bikes for outdoor experiences.

Break-Down of an Indoor Bike

Indoor bikes are much more substantial than bikes for outdoors, mainly because they come with a resistance wheel that can typically weight up to 40 pounds! This resistance wheel is all you need to break a sweat, or most times, drench in sweat after only a few minutes. This wheel can easily be adjusted according to your fitness level and fitness goals. The higher the level, the higher the resistance, therefore- the harder it will be to pedal.

  1. Convenience

Riding a stationary bike at-home or at-work will eliminate you needing to plan an outdoor workout at all. Working out or cycling outdoors needs to be pencilled into your schedule, and sometimes cannot be fulfilled thanks to unexpected circumstances. With indoor cycling, working out indoors is made easy. Just getting off your couch, or off your office chair and walking a few steps to the bike is all you need for preparation for your workout. Although, a change of clothes will be helpful for the sweaty smell after the workout.

  1. Adjustable Resistance

Unlike riding outdoors, adjusting your resistance with an indoor bike is much more comfortable. Merely adjusting the resistance levels with the trackpad on the bike can ensure you’re working harder to break more of a sweat. Outdoor cycling resistance can also be adjusted; however, you will need to find tons of hill to drive up and down on in order to give yourself a harder challenge.

While cycling outdoors may give you the excitement factor, indoor cycling gives you convenience. Plus, newer bikes are offering ways to connect with other riders digitally to take some of the boredom out of your workout!
