Yes! That is the ‘C’ word that is in the title of this latest blog post! The time has come and we are slowly but surely edging our way towards Christmas and so begin the little nuggets of inspiration here on the blog in the form of gift guides. Today though, I’m bringing you something a little special in the form of Christmas ideas for children with Rubik’s Junior. And make sure you stick around until the end of the post because there is a brilliant giveaway and discount code, available to all!
History of the Rubik’s Cube
The Rubik’s Cube has been around for years! 44 in fact! I can remember having one when I was little (I think I even tried to peel the stickers off because I could never complete it – even that didn’t work!). In 1981 it became a worldwide craze and in 1982 Rubik’s held the first World Championship in Budapest. The winner completed the cube in 22.95 seconds – this blows my mind!
There have been many other Rubik’s puzzles since the original cube, including The Snake and Rubik’s Magic and in 2017 the Rubik’s Speedcube was produced.
Rubik’s Junior
Alongside these, there is also now a range especially for children, 4 years plus – the Rubik’s Junior range. They include a smaller cube and it can be solved in stages making the 2×2 Cube easier to solve. First children can solve the monkey graphic or the 2 coloured faces. Once this has been mastered, they can try and solve them together.
Kids love animals too don’t they? What better way to get little minds working by giving them an animal-themed Rubik’s toy? The Rubik’s Junior Animal Collection includes a Bear, Bunny, Puppy & Kitten. The twistable characters are easy to grip and turn, making this collection ideal for children under ten years old.

We were lucky enough to be sent the complete Junior Animal Collection along with the Junior Cube and I can honestly say that the Cube is my Little Man’s new favourite toy. Before we leave the house to go in the car it’s the first thing he grabs. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to see him grabbing for something that hasn’t got a screen!
What I like about the Junior range is that they are small enough for little hands, the animal ones are very cute and really appealing to young eyes. They are small, so can be taken anywhere and can be played with again and again. This toy has clearly stood the test of time, so it’s good to now see something that the smaller children can get involved in. And of course, it’s fabulous for their problem-solving skills.

Take a look and see for yourself the full Rubik’s Junior range and if you are tempted, I have a cheeky discount code for you. Simply enter JUNIOR18 in the promo box at the checkout. This will give 10% off the full bundles that Rubik’s have on offer – ready for Christmas stockings!
