3 Key Signs Of A Healthy Relationship

Relationships come in all shapes and sizes, but when you throw romance into the mix, things can become complicated. This is because romance could be considered a wild card, something that we cannot fully control, as romantic love is known to be tremendously intense and fiery at its best, and sometimes, quite harsh at its worst.

For this reason, it’s good to invest your time and will into making sure you’re there for the other person, and they are there for you. As all relationships are different, sometimes it can be hard to know if yours is actually a healthy relationship, or if you’ve learned to accept and tolerate certain behaviours that may or may not be conducive to mutual respect and care.

While we cannot speak for every relationship, the following three signs will give you a general understanding of how healthy and worthwhile your relationship has become, and the degrees to which you may need to put in more effort. With that in mind, let us begin:

Honest, Regular Communication

Without communication, no relationship can work. This is why it’s important to make sure you can have both friendly, inspirational, and tough conversations as necessary. When the honeymoon period wears off and real life comes into play, making sure you can have these discussions in good faith allows you to be more reasonable and responsible with one another, preventing small issues from growing, and allowing real problems to be heard. The honesty of this nature is what builds a team out of two people, rather than false lies and issues that take place.

A Desire To Help, But Not Dictate

Relationships are best when they work as a team when both people want to help the other person realize the best of themselves. However, it’s also true to say that sometimes, thinking that you’re going to mold someone into an entirely new person is just not conceivable or achievable. For this reason, it’s essential to make sure that you have an appropriate understanding that while you’ll both try to help one another, the resentment that builds when you force each other to change is off the table. Let honest conversations, as discussed above, remain your mediator.

Intimacy As Defined By Your Relationship

It’s good to make sure you have the intimacy that allows you to thrive. For some couples this might mean breaking out the erotic massage oil, for others, it means simply spending time holding one another while drinking wine in front of a great movie. Some relationship blogs say that if you’re not spending time in the throes of passion constantly, then there’s a problem – but remember, some relationships are between those who are a little older, some may be disabled, others may simply have different drives and desires. What matters is finding a happy point that helps you both and that you can put effort into. Sometimes, a loving kiss on the forehead goodnight is the most intimate and loving thing you can experience.

With this advice, we hope you can see your relationship in a new light, and no doubt feel gratitude for it all over again.
