Hi, I’m Amy. I blog over at www.allaboutamummy.co.uk I started blogging when I was 20wks pregnant with my second child. I was battling to get an elective C section after a traumatic first delivery and was incredibly anxious and stressed. My blog began as a pregnancy diary giving me somewhere to vent my emotions and grew from there. Now I cover all aspects of family life, reviews, recipes and home interiors.
These are some of the tunes of my life:
The Long and Winding Road – The Beatles
My Dad used to play the guitar to me when I was little and we’d work our way through the Beatles songbook. I can’t sing a note but luckily my Dad’s voice is louder than mine! This is one of the most beautiful songs we used to sing together
She Wants to Dance with Me – Rick Astley
My parents bought me a record player one Christmas and instantly regretted it as I played this single on repeat for months! Rick was also the first concert I ever went to. There were some empty seats down at the front at Wembley Arena so my Dad snuck us down there to get a better view.
Crazy for you – Let Loose
I don’t hear this song very often but when I do I am instantly transported back to being 13. It would definitely be the song playing in the video montage of my early teens!
Wonderwall – Oasis
My late teens were all about Brit Pop. Blur, Pulp and of course Oasis were on my playlist. I saw Oasis live at Knebworth in 1996 and it was amazing singing along to their hits with 125,000 people. Live Forever was actually my favourite Oasis song but Wonderwall just optimises that era.
Yeah! – Usher
My Art College years were defined by a soft R’n’B phase. I remember buying Usher’s Confessions album on a Uni trip to NYC from a street stall on Broadway. I think I really thought I could dance like him too which looking back is hilarious!
Iris – Goo Goo Dolls
This song was the first dance at my wedding and we love it so much we named our youngest child after it.
Goodnight Girl – Wet Wet Wet
I have always been a Wet Wet Wet fan and saw them once live as a kid, but about 10 years ago they reformed and my Mum and I saw them in concert every opportunity we could until 2017 when Marti Pellow quit to pursue his solo career. Sob, sob…
One Day Like This – Elbow
This song is my Husband’s family anthem. My Brother in Law plays his guitar and we all sing along round the kitchen table. This one we blow the roof off. We even sang it in the church at My Sister in Laws wedding.
