If you follow me on Twitter, you must have been blind if you’ve missed my tweets about an amazing experience I had last week. An experience that involved me going along to Resorts World Birmingham, to hang out in their Sky Bar with some really cool and influential people.
I was invited to attend the launch of SocialFame, a new concept that is going to connect the Midland’s top influencers with really exciting brands. The idea has been put together by Ed James of Heart Breakfast West Midlands and Rees Bradley Hepburn – an advertising and PR agency from the Midlands.
Attending were some of the region’s most influential people and I am so utterly thrilled to have been chosen to be a part of this amazing adventure. It’s such a fantastic opportunity, which I have obviously grabbed with both hands!
But the point of this blog post isn’t to brag about my achievements but to share with you, a bit about Resorts World Birmingham.
I’ll be honest. I had never been. I kind of knew it was there from the last time I went to the NEC. But I didn’t really know what was actually inside the huge building that has been erected. So let me now share with you what I have discovered.
If you’re looking for a place to take the kids over the summer holidays then let me tell you, you won’t go wrong by going here. Pixel by Vortex Gaming is a digital experience for all the family. Alongside Pixel is Vortex itself. Vortex is a state of the art family entertainment centre, that brings an amazing “digital experience and iconic gameplay to your doorstep.” A real treat for the kids (and big kids!)
There’s an 11 screen IMAX Cineworld cinema. It only opened in October 2015 and has the ultimate viewing experience. There are restaurants galore – seriously something for everyone! From Nandos to Pizza Express to TGI Fridays – the choice of food is pretty incredible.
With 18 bars and restaurants to choose from and of course the plush hotel – did I forget to mention that?! You really could take yourself off for a kid free weekend and not leave the complex! I highly recommend popping along to the Sky Bar – the views are beautiful and the atmosphere is fabulous. The cocktails aren’t bad either! The Genting Casino is a few steps away and then the next day – go shopping!
There are over 50 outlet shops at Resorts World Birmingham. Yes – outlet shops, so that means you could save up to 70% on those things you’ve been meaning to get your hands on. Take a look at the cheeky little video of me doing just that last week!

Then when you’re all shopped out, go and have a rest in the spa. You’d be a fool not to! I can’t think of a better way to end the weekend.
I really had no idea just how much was at Resorts World Birmingham until last week. I was amazed when I walked in and can tell you that it certainly won’t be the last time I will be going.
I wasn’t asked to write this post. I just genuinely wanted to share with you, my experience of a fabulous place. And while I’m here, take a look at some of the photos I managed to snap in the evening!
Have you ever been to Resorts World Birmingham? I’d love to know, let me know in the comments!
* I wasn’t asked to write this post on this occasion. I just wanted to share my experience with you. Huge thanks go to SocialFame for the invite – we had a blast!
