It’s party time, so break out the snacks, put on your boogie shoes, and send out the invitations! Before anything else, though, it’s important to make sure you have some fun entertainment lined up for the evening.
Chances are, wherever you live there’s no shortage of solo artists or even full bands for hire. Why not take advantage of that? Here are five big reasons why live music is just plain better…
The “Wow” Factor
Simply put, having live musicians performing at your event is more impressive than settling for a DJ or relying on a Spotify playlist. Do you want to impress your party guests? Of course, you do, don’t deny it! Half the fun of throwing a party is providing attendees with an experience they won’t soon forget. Live music acts are a great way of making sure your event is worth remembering.
Audience Participation
One of the biggest things that separates live music from prerecorded is the opportunity for interactivity. By having an actual human being there to perform for your party-goers, you’re facilitating a real-time connection between them both. Audiences and entertainers alike can interact with each other and share banter, resulting in a unique, one-of-a-kind experience that can’t be replicated any other way.
Emcee Double-Duty
The bigger and better your party, the more likely you’ll need an emcee to make announcements and introductions, to keep your guests energized but also under control, and to set the tone and mood of your event. Singers and band-leaders are naturals when it comes to dealing with crowds, which means that hiring a live music act basically means getting a bonus party emcee for free!
Creative Adaptability
Party planning survival tip numero uno: always expect the unexpected. You never know what will happen on the day of your big event, nor how audiences will respond to the activities you’ve arranged for them. Fortunately, a live music act offers the kind of moment-to-moment flexibility you need to deal with whatever comes your way. Onstage performers can speed things up, slow things down, change up the setlist, or even provide a nice distraction when you need it most.
Special Requests
Arguably the best part of working with a real, live person instead of some music-streaming app is the way it allows both you and your guests the chance to make special requests. Most performers are more than happy to customize their acts to meet your specific needs, which includes playing those deep cuts and nostalgic favourites that matter most in achieving your unique party goals.
