Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life. But this doesn’t mean it isn’t a stressful affair for everyone involved. While you want to enjoy your day, you still feel there is too much going on, and too much that could go wrong. This isn’t good for anybody, but while you will have these fears, it’s essential to understand that there are some worries that you can overcome easier than you expect.
Decisions Decisions
By the end of your wedding planning, you’ll never want to make a decision ever again. You’ve spent so much energy trying to find your perfect wedding dress, pick the perfect music, and chop and change the seating arrangements, that the idea of deciding what you want for breakfast feels too much.
Just remember that what’s done is done. You’ve gotten to the point where you cannot change anything, and that’s okay. You are bound to second-guess yourself, but remember that you made these decisions for a reason, so trust your gut.
Forgotten Essentials
On the day of the wedding, you are going to wake up in a panic. No matter how much you rack your brain, you cannot remember if you hired a photographer or told the DJ the right day. This is enough to send anyone into a spiral of stress but just relax.
While you can supervise organising these factors, you can also pass it off to somebody else, such as the Maid of Honour or one of the bridesmaids. You can also create a checklist that you can look at whenever you feel you’ve forgotten something, and immediately feel at ease.
Drop Outs
Every wedding has dropouts, but that’s okay. Things happen at the last minute that makes people unable to attend. While you would have loved to have had them at your wedding, it is not the end of the world, unless it’s your partner, of course.
It’s not a good idea to stress over no-shows. Considering how many people adore weddings, it’s safe to assume that everyone tried their best to attend. Life and unforeseen disasters can get in the way, though, so keep this in mind, and don’t let it dampen your day.
Oh, The Weather
Speaking of dampening your day, what about the weather? Too many people worry about the weather. They don’t want clouds and rain, they want blue skies and sunshine, even in the middle of winter when that feels an impossible feat.
We all know you can’t do anything about the weather, so make the most of what you have. Most weddings are indoors anyway, so that won’t affect you too much. But, for outdoor weddings, you can organise a canopy or gazebo to give them some respite from the miserable weather. If the weather is particularly bad, at least it will be memorable.
Your Happiest Day
Once the Big Day comes, there is so much that is out of your hands not worth worrying over that the most you can do is sit back and try to relax. This is easier said than done, of course. But rather than notice a million little disasters, you can have the mindset that it’s much easier to work with 999,996, which will make things just a little more manageable.
