We appear to have found ourselves in a strange situation these days where we are spending all of our time at home and you wouldn’t be criticised for feeling that being within the same four walls might become just a little claustrophobic. This is why we need to make the most of our outdoor space and spend more time in the garden. It’s the perfect space for you to bond with your family and enjoy each other’s company.
Build a play area for the kids
When children are concerned we know that they aren’t always the easiest to keep entertained. Why not consider giving them their own little play area? Create them a ball pit, or build them a sandpit or let them create works of art with washable paints on the patio. If you are lucky enough to have a tree in your garden how about a treehouse? We can all remember how exciting they were as children. If you have no tree, then create a den with a summer house or even a small shed.
Trampolines are great fun, as are paddling pools in the heat of the summer, but the only thing with these types of garden toys is the damage to the grass. It’s well worth taking the stress out of maintaining the garden by laying artificial grass. You don’t have to spend a fortune on this, take a look at clearance artificial grass and weigh up your options. How nice it would be to never have to mow the lawn again?
Pool or hot tub anybody?
Semi-permanent family swimming pools have become very popular recently and families that want to enjoy their garden more, and each other’s company, spending money on one is a very good idea.
There are different types to consider such as inflated pools or ones with a hard outer casing. Think carefully about which one you would prefer. Hot tubs are a great addition to the garden in that they can be used all year round. It goes without saying that when adding pools or tubs of water to the garden, you should make sure that they’re safe to use and that children are supervised at all times.
Let’s go alfresco!
We all know we should eat together but how often do we all take the time to do so? It’s a great way to get together and talk and share our thoughts and feelings, which is important, especially at a time of uncertainty. So why not think about creating an alfresco dining space – it doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated.
You can start by adding something as simple as a good quality dining table. If you wanted to make more of a feature of your dining space, you might want to think about building some decking or a patio. Add some outdoor lighting for some magical evenings. Nights in don’t have to be boring if you have nice surroundings to enjoy them in.
How will you be enjoying your garden during the warmer months? Let us know in the comments.
