What’s on my nails…?

What’s on my nails…?

First and foremost let’s get one thing straight. I love my make up as much as the next girl but this ain’t never gonna be a full on beauty blog. Na ah. I don’t mind reading about beauty products on other blogs but I’m afraid I can’t be arsed with writing about things I chuck on my face or body. It doesn’t float my boat I’m afraid.

However. I am regularly asked about my nails. Questions include, are they your own? Do you do them yourself? How long does it take you? How do you keep them so nice? Don’t they ever break? Well in brief, yes they are my own. I kinda do them myself (with a little help from my nail technician who whacks on an acrylic overlay for me every now and again!) They don’t take long, when you know how. I look after them with regular applications of cuticle oil and finally yes, occasionally they do break and that’s usually when you will hear a little yelp of sadness escape from me. But generally with acrylic overlays, breakages are few and far between, that’s why I have them.

So now I’ve answered those questions I thought I’d share what I’m wearing on them this week. I’m usually a red, nude or brown/beige and black nail colour fan but last week I decided I fancied a change and leapt into the depths of spring colours and I’ve been loving the results.

The lilac colour is by Essie and is the shade ‘Nice is Nice’. The accent nail has two coats of Rimmel’s Glitter top coat and to finish off is Sally Hansen‘s Insta-Dri top coat. It’s my holy grail of nail polishing.

I’m really enjoying the summer shades and am looking forward to trying a few more out. Feel free to leave me your recommendations in the comments below and if this post proves popular, I might do some more.

Just one final thought…

OH I absolutely LOVE this lilac. Looks perfect for spring. I like the darker colors for winter but I am loving lilacs, light greys, yellow and bubble pinks for spring summer the brighter the better at the moment. Thanks for linking up to Share With Me. #sharewithme
