I can hardly believe that we have arrived in September already. It feels like only yesterday that the schools were finishing for the long six-week break and the whole of summer was stretched out in front of us. After a couple of mini heatwaves, we find ourselves feeling a little more chilly, especially in the evenings, and it’s almost time to begin the summer to autumn fashion transition.
I don’t know about you but I’m not ready to reach for my woolly jumpers yet and I’m not ready to kiss goodbye to my summer dresses and floaty skirts. The days can still be warm in September so it’s important not to bundle these key pieces into the back of the wardrobe. With a few additions, you can still make use of your summer wardrobe in a very stylish way.

Personally, this trend is my all-time favourite. Whilst I’m happy to go for the boho-pretty look during the summer, as soon as the weather turns slightly, I’m found reaching for my leather jacket and skinny jeans. It’s just been my favourite go-to style, so I’m super pleased I’m going to be bang on trend this autumn.
Oversized items are big this season too – such as khaki and camo jackets and denim shirts. These look great teamed with a denim or leather mini skirts. Throw on some trainers or high-tops and you are good to go.
Leather biker boots are a staple for this look and can be thrown on at a moments notice. They go with skirts, jeans and dresses and just look amazing with everything. And what’s more? They are super comfortable. Who says you can’t be comfortable and stylish at the same time?
Utility & Ecru
The Utility trend is huge this season. Belted jackets, oversized shackets, high-waist trousers, wide-leg trousers and even jumpsuits are key pieces this season that are perfect from taking summer into autumn. Ecru-white is the perfect colour and goes with everything. It’s definitely worth stocking up on a couple of pieces at least to have as go-to’s in your wardrobe.
These pieces are great for going to back to work (if of course, you have been lucky enough to have some time off over the summer). Perhaps you’re a teacher who wants something smart, stylish yet comfortable to go back to work in. This style and trend are perfect for you.
