The Mediterranean has three glamorous destinations that attract thousands of jet-setters and VIPs from all around the globe. These are two islands – Mykonos in Greece and Ibiza in Spain – and one seafront tiny state – the Principality of Monaco, located at the French Riviera.

Mykonos

Monaco

Monaco’s economic development started at the end of the 19th century based on 2 facts: the founding of the famous Monte Carlo casino and the train connection with Paris. Today it has the world’s most expensive real estate market and the lowest poverty rate. Many millionaires live or have a house in Monaco.

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the world’s most important car races and is being held every year since 1929. It takes six weeks to set up the Formula One circuit and another three to remove it. It is considered to be the most demanding race as the circuit is really tight and narrow.
Another famous car race, the Monte Carlo Rally, is held annually in Monaco. In fact, only the ending of the race is located in Monaco – because of its limited space – and the rest of the race takes place in France.
