Procrastination – Wednesday Wisdom 35

29 November 2017 2 min read

I was pretty pleased to have completed all of my Christmas shopping last week. I had been dreading it for ages and I have no idea why I just kept putting it off.

Then, all of a sudden, out of the blue, I was sat one evening and it dawned on me. I knew what I needed to buy, I just had to get on and do it. I didn’t even need to leave the house because I do it all online. I didn’t even switch on the computer. I picked up my phone and set to it. A couple of taps here and a few more swipes there and it was done. I had finished my Christmas shopping within half an hour and I hadn’t left the comfort of my bed.

I felt so much better when it was done and pretty smug too!

“Never do tomorrow what you can do today. Procrastination is the thief of time”

This is so, so true! If there’s a particular task that needs doing and you really don’t want to do it, the sooner you get it out the way, the sooner you can forget about it and concentrate your time and efforts on something you enjoy doing. It makes so much sense.
