Here is a little bit about Vicky…
“I have always had a passion for art and design inherited from my grandma who I adored; we used to draw and paint together whenever possible. I went to art college and studied design and crafts at Brighton University and carried on drawing and making in my free time but fell for the lure of a stable income and work took over. It was only when I had my little boy a couple of years ago, that I decided to risk a more creative path. I discovered glass painting by accident (a long story!) but I immediately fell for it. The process of drawing on each glass individually, as the act of drawing is like a kind of meditation for me. I like the fact that the pieces are functional and I love playing with the application of paint to the translucent, three-dimensional glasses, as different effects can be achieved depending on the rotation of the glass or the light passing through it. I get excited about turning the seed of an idea into my own core ranges or working on bespoke commissions – and the product was obvious…I’m partial to a G&T myself!”

Cotswold Handmade have a variety of designs available on their Etsy shop but as I mentioned earlier, Vicky also offers bespoke designs, so if you have something in particular in mind, she can design and paint it for you. Perhaps you would like a glass with a name on or a favourite pattern or animal. Vicky can do this for you. All you have to do is get in touch with her to discuss your requirements.
