The UK is notorious for a rainy Summer day. As sad as this is to admit, we very often need to embrace the clouds and the need for an umbrella when leaving the house. A bit of rain doesn’t mean we have to cancel all plans. There are plenty of things you can do. Here are 4 things to do on a rainy Summer day.
Go outside anyway
We live in the UK so a little rain is inevitable from time to time. There is no harm in getting outside anyway! Don the wellington boots, pull on your raincoat and go and jump in some puddles – your kids will love you for it! On days where there is a gentle rainstorm, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy plenty of outdoor events and activities that you would normally do. Don’t let a little light rain spoil your fun get in your way.
Shop
Let’s be honest, we all love a good excuse to shop! If it’s raining, what better way to spend a day in an undercover shopping centre with everything under one roof? There is something for everyone. Browse the clothes stores for yourself and you can check out the chocolate gifts available also. Shopping is a really easy way to spend a good couple of hours and you won’t even realise that you’re doing it. And if you really don’t want to go out in the rain – there is always online shopping! Win-win!
Watch a film
So the cinema is a perfect way to spend a rainy day. Who doesn’t love to while away the hours with a good film? If the thought of venturing out and getting rained on doesn’t appeal then maybe a trip to the local shop for some munchies will suffice so you can snuggle up for a film day and night.
Bowling
Bowling is such a great way to spend an evening and is a fantastic way to socialise too. Get a few friends together and book a lane at your local bowling alley. A lot of the bigger chains even have deals on where you can get food too – it’s always worth looking online before you rock up. There’s nothing like a bit of competition to liven up a rainy Summer day!
