A Spring Bedroom Makeover With Debenhams

Spring bedroom makeover

May has been a wonderful month so far. The weather has treated us so well and to have the sunshine pouring in through the windows has been like a breath of fresh air. However, with the sunlight making more of an appearance, it makes it easier to see that things are getting a little tired inside the home and it became apparent that we were in need of a sunny spring bedroom makeover.

We decorated our bedroom just last year so the decor itself is absolutely fine, however, our bed linen wasn’t looking quite as fresh, so it has been nice to brighten the room up by replacing it. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make all the difference.

We opted for the Kylie Minogue At Home bedding range from Debenhams. This particular design is called ‘Atmosphere’ and it is in a beautiful ivory shade. It has rows of pleated velvet combined with a sumptuous ivory satin, offset with sparkling diamantes. It really is very glamorous!

It is 100% polyester on the face and 100% on the reverse. It is so very soft and you can’t help but run your feet up and down it when you’re sat on the bed.

Despite having two windows in our bedroom, they aren’t all that big and so it’s become apparent that we need to keep the curtains and the bed linen lighter in colour so that the room doesn’t get too dark. I think this will work well for us in the Winter months too as it’s so luxurious and cosy. I will likely add a faux fur throw and some faux fur cushions when it gets colder. I think it will move between seasons really well.

I picked up some new bedside lamps to go with our little spring bedroom makeover. These Etch Ceramic Table Lamps in a gunmetal shade go great with our existing black ceiling shades. I wasn’t sure the black would work too well with the new bed linen but I think it does. The beauty is, the bed linen, despite it being ivory, does have a greyish tint within the velvet ruffles, so it all comes together nicely. In time I may change the lamp shades, but for now, I’m really pleased with how this looks.

The room is so much brighter now and the bed is so welcoming. Perfect to snuggle up in and get comfortable after a long day’s work and running around after our five-year-old. It’s nice to have some luxury in the bedroom too. Debenhams have such a great bedding range available, I’m very tempted to invest in more of the same.

The question that begs to be answered now though, is will I be able to drag myself the few footsteps to my desk to work, or will be I so cosy and comfortable that I sit on my bed? Time will tell.

  • It looks so lovely Jaki! A beautiful bright room, no wonder you are happy with it xx

  • It’s amazing what a few small touches can do to change the atmosphere of a small space! We did the same in out bedroom recently, and went for silvers and greys. I love this bedding, it would go really well with our decor, as it does yours! I think I’d struggle to get to my desk too! #TriumphantTales

Ooh I love a bit of new bedding! Our loft extension should be ready in a month or so – the perfect excuse for a spend up on bedding! Might have to check out good old Debbedubs.

It is so true that the spring and sunshine show up the bits in the house that need doing. Today I could stand the grubby finger prints on the stairs where the children don’t use the handrail so out came the sugar soap and the white paint – phew so much better, but next time I am buying glam bedding instead! #coolmumclub

Looks so pretty, but I think my Gatsby would make a mockery of that comforter, at our cost! Lovely! Enjoy it! #triumphanttales xoxo

Love the pop of pink. I find cushions really add something while others find it’s something extra to keep clean. #TriumphantTales
