A Charm Bracelet With Meaning

I have owned a charm bracelet since I was tiny. So tiny in fact, it was a present bought for me for my christening. Let’s just say that charm bracelet is now thirty plus years old! Admittedly, I can’t wear it anymore. It’s a tad delicate to say the least and it’s so small, it no longer fits but it is most certainly something I will never get rid of.

My charm bracelet is sterling silver and has charms on it of Humpty Dumpty and a stork carrying a baby, to name a few. I can remember loving my bracelet when I was small and it used to only come out on special occasions such as Birthdays and Christmas. That made it all the more special.

Charm bracelets have become more fashionable in recent years and it’s nice to see that they have made a comeback. It’s lovely to see people wearing personal “charms”, that signify something important in the wearer’s life. It’s nice to see people carrying their memories around with them and when I see them, they always remind me of my own, despite me not being able to wear it anymore.

I’ve often thought about getting a replacement and having new memories on the new charm bracelet. In recent years I’ve done a lot of growing up and now have a child of my own, so there would be plenty of symbols to choose from. I took a look at the charms on Kigu of London to see if there were any that I liked.

I love this selection and it’s safe to say I have something to put on my Christmas list this year. And I love how you can add to them all the time and with each occasion, you get a new charm, a new memory gets added. I’m quite excited by the prospect.

Do you have a charm bracelet that holds a special meaning? I’d love to hear about it. Let me know in the comments.
