I have done more tags in the last few weeks than I have done in a whole year. It’s great to be included and I thank all of the lovely bloggers out there that have thought about me. This week big thanks goes to Laura from Wafflemama and Sarah from Whimsical Musings for tagging me in this extra special tag – 10 Ways In Which I Am Rocking Motherhood. What a privilege to be included.
If truth be told, I had been kind of dreading being tagged in this one. Whilst it’s really lovely and I am super grateful. I am AWFUL at bigging myself up. I’m sat here and have just muttered the words to my boys “I need your help with this one”.
So the Rocking Motherhood tag is where we tell you ten ways in which we are nailing Motherhood. It’s tough, because in all honesty, I don’t know one Mum out there that doesn’t think she’s messing it up on a regular basis. So, it may take me a while, but I’m going to give this a go.
- Hugs – apparently I am the best at ‘huggles’. I love hugging him as much as he loves hugging me, so this is never a problem!
- I tell him I love him all day every day – probably too much if that’s even possible!
- I treat him to little things whenever I can – again, not sure if this is a good thing. If I am at the shops and I see something I know he would love, I just can’t help myself! I think this is only natural.
- I play with my Little Man as much as I can – he tells me I’m great at it. It can be boring as hell – we all know this, but I try my best with him. I think this is especially important because he is an only child.
- I am there for him morning, noon and night – If he needs me at 3 in the morning I’m there in a shot – because I sleep with one ear open. This very often means I function on a daily basis on very little sleep. But this is what you do as a Mum. It doesn’t always stop when they stop being babies. This is one thing I think a lot of first time Mum’s are unaware of.
- I chose to work around him – I could have gone back to work full time, I mean we could have done with the money, but I chose to work part time so that I could be there for him as much as possible. My hours will be perfect when he begins school in September, I will be able to drop him off, pick him up AND work in the middle. I realise how lucky I am to do that and many Mums would do anything to be in that position.
- He is always in lovely clean clothes – I could never let him out of the house in dirty clothes and he is a real trendy little boy. I love shopping for boys clothes – whilst my biggest bug bear is that there is never a much of a selection of boys clothes as there is girls, he always looks so cool. With his skinny jeans and long sleeve t-shirts in the Winter and his denim shorts and t-shirts in the Summer, I am always quite proud that he looks like a real cute little boy.
- I try to feed him well – Little Man is dreadful with food and will only eat a select amount of food. I try not to stress about it even though it worries me daily. I know he will probably grow out of it, but for the time being I just have to go with it. I encourage him to try new things as much as I can. But I can’t force him. I can only do my best.
- Making memories – I try to make as many memories for him as possible. I take photos as and when I can. He loves to look through them and tell me what he remembers. This can be from holidays to days out to simple afternoons at home. I love that he can look back on these things fondly.
- I’d move Heaven and Earth for him – if I needed to. I would do anything to make him happy. He’s my whole world and his happiness is the most important thing in the world.
Oh my goodness that was so hard. I dread to think how long I’ve been sat staring into space whilst writing this one.
We are so good and quick to put ourselves down when it comes to being a Mum, thinking of the positive things can be really tricky! But having looked back over this little list, I guess I’m not doing too bad a job at all!

I now tag the lovely Lianne at The Brunette Says, if she would like to take part.

Thank you Kelly 🙂
This Tag has such a feel good vibe, it’s exactly the kind of thing us Mums should be celebrating. Not sure why then I can’t quite bring myself to sit down and do it? Must try harder!
Thanks so much for linking to #coolmumclub and being our featured post from last week x
Thank you for featuring me! So pleased I hit publish on that one 🙂 and yes – this tag is hard to write – I still don’t know why!! 😄 xx
I love reading this tag! I don’t know why it’s so difficult for us to come up with reasons why we’re great mums, but it really is. All of your reasons are absolutely perfect though, you’re clearly an amazing mum and we should give ourselves more recognition of that. Well done, and thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
Thank you Katy – lovely words. Much appreciated xx
Oh I love this tag and your answers are fab. My favourites are 9 and 10. I think tags are like buses… Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉
Haha like buses. They do seem to be! Thank you for visiting 🙂 x
You really are rocking motherhood! As you say all mums think they are messing up at times but I also think all mums are much better at parenting than they think they are!
Thanks for linking up to #AnythingGoes 🙂
Debbie
I think you are probably right. We are quick to put ourselves down though aren’t we?! 🙂
Aww this is lovely. I know exactly how you feel, bigging myself up, especially as a mum, is something that feels almost impossible to me at times. I’m so glad you gave this a go and acknowledged what an awesome mum you clearly are! xx #sharingthebloglove
Ah thank you so much. I do try – even though on days such as today he can make it very difficult!! 🙂 xx
This is so lovely. There is always loads of love for our little ones, never too much!! I like to think myblittle one is such a cutie too but do t we all think that!! Thank you for linking up to the #familyfunlinky
Definitely. Thank you 🙂
Lovely post and thank you fofor taking part. It would be great if you could grab the badge from my side bar. I absolutely agree with you when you say we always feel like we are messing it up which is exactly why I have created the tag. As much as we might sometimes mess it up (at the end of the day we are only human) we are doing lots of great things for our children and really we should be celebrating it.
Of course, will do so! Thanks for creating a lovely tag. It was a privilege to take part 🙂
Fab answers lovely, I like to treat mine too, can’t help myself either. I also used to love making my boy look trendy, I still do, although there isn’t as much choice for boys I do love skinny jeans and cool tops 🙂 Thanks for linking up to the #bestandworst
It sounds like we have the same tastes! 🙂
Love the motherhood tag! It is so nice to reflect on all the things us mamas are doing well! xx #marvmondays
It does. So hard to write though!! 🙂 xx
I love reading these tags. I struggled to write mine to begin with, but then it just flowed. we do give ourselves a hard time, when actually when we sit down and think about it, we are bloody brilliant! Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove
Thanks lovely. They are great to read aren’t they. xx
You certainly are rocking motherhood lovely! What more could you do? It’s lovely to see it all written out like that – you can see all of the love & hard work you put into being a mom. Thank you for sharing with us at #BloggerClubUK
