An interview with my 3 year old…

22 August 2016 2 min read

I’ve seen a few blog posts recently where fellow bloggers interview their children. I tried it a while back but he must have been a little bit young, as the answers were just a shrug or he was more interested in the Fireman Sam rescue centre toy in the toy box (other toys are available).

Last week I decided to give it a go and I’m so pleased I did. His answers were both insightful and heart warming. The things that kids say…!

1. What do you like to draw? Smiley faces

2. What makes you happy? When you’re here

3. What makes you sad? When you and Daddy aren’t here

4. What makes you laugh? Telling a joke

5. How old are you? Three

6. How old is Mummy? Four

7. How old is Daddy? Twenty One

8. What is your favorite thing to do? Play with my cars

9. What do you want to be when you grow up?  A builder

10. What are you really good at? Drawing

11. What is your favorite food? Pudding yogurts (also known as Milky Bar desserts which he was eating at the time!)

12. What is your favorite song? Balamory

13. What do you want for your birthday next year? Lego

14. What does Daddy do for work? I don’t know

15. What does Mummy do for work? Work on your computer

16. What is your favourite cartoon character? Lightening McQueen

17. Where do you live? Here

18. Where is your favorite place to go? The park

19. What is the best part about swimming? Playing

20. What is your favorite toy? Lego

21. What is your favorite thing about bathtime? Splashing around

22. What are your favorite books? Hide & Seek books

23. What is something Mummy always says to you? Do you want any sauce?

24. What is something Daddy always says to you? Silly things

25. What is love? Loving you

What an utterly heart melting way to end the ‘interview’.

Feel free to copy the questions and interview your little one – please do send me a link, I’d love to read them!

Lovely answers, especially the last one! My 2 year old has just started to run up to me and her dad to tell us she loves us, it’s amazing! #bestandworst

That is so sweet, I might have to ask my three year old these questions. x #bestandworstlinky

    • Jaki 25 August 2016 at 17:09

Oh you should. They love it too & think it’s great to be put on the spot! Thanks for the comment. X

Aw that’s so cute. I had to giggle at “Do you want any sauce”. It’s funny what kids remember and how they see things. I read through your questions with my 3 year old and she said that she thought Daddy was 20 and Mummy was 60. Charmed I’m sure! 😉 Thanks for linking with #fartglitter x

I know!! Of all the lovely things I say to him each day he remembers the sauce thing! Fascinating. Ah bless her! It’s a good job we know they have no concept of age!! 🙂 x

Oh, what a gorgeous end to the interview. And you are so kind to offer him sauce! 🙂 (I just plonk it on everything for NG). I might try these questions with her later as she’s just three. Sort of steeling myself for the ‘how old am I’ one, though… #fortheloveofBLOG

    • Jaki 29 August 2016 at 16:49

God forbid if I put sauce on it on a day he doesn’t want it – I’d have to cook the whole damn meal again! You know how fussy these kids are!! 😀 If ypu ask the questions you must share – I love reading other answers 🙂 Thank you for reading and commenting 🙂

Oh my god that is the best answer to the last question I have seen. How lovely is that. I also very much enjoyed the answer to where do you live? Made me chuckle. Love how their little minds work. Thanks so much for linking at #fortheloveofblog

    • Jaki 29 August 2016 at 16:47

I know it’s adorable isn’t it. Bless his heart. I too love seeing how they tick. It’s certainly one to treasure 🙂

Super post – love the fact you’ve got it recorded to look back on in the future. One of the best things for me about blogging is that i get to look back and remember things the kids said like this. #PoCoLo Maybe we should ask the same questions every year to see how they change!

    • Jaki 29 August 2016 at 16:46

This is a great idea – I should set myself a reminder now and do it at the same time next year! 🙂

  • justsayingmum 28 August 2016 at 08:38

ahhh totally gorgeous. Love the fact that you’re 4. Love that you always say “do you want any sauce?” and just how adorable was the last answer? Totally melting! What a gorgeous memory this blog will become?! #fortheloveofBLOG

    • Jaki 29 August 2016 at 16:44

Haha, the sauce answer still makes me giggle. Of all the lovely things I say to him on a daily basis!! 😀 And yes, these kinds of posts will be something lovely to look back on – and to dig out on his 18th birthday!!! 😀 Thanks for stopping by.
