If you are a regular to my blog, you may have noticed that she is looking a little fresher these days! I have been wanting to give Jaki Jellz a makeover for some time now, but time and my inabilty to make a decision has prevented me from doing so!
When you spend a lot of time working on blog posts and various other bits and pieces, obviously you find yourself looking at your home page rather frequently! Whilst I had a lot of love for my old logo, I was getting tired. I loved it because it was my first design when I went self hosted last year. I loved it because it has been with me throughout the growth that this blog has had and I loved it because it was almost my identity.
I was a little nervous about the change. I was worried that I might no longer be recognised and that it may have a negative impact. But I soon realised that it’s not the logo that really matters but the name. I feel that this new logo is very clean, very fresh and very modern and I think it was the right time to take the jump.
My new Jaki Jellz logo was born at around 3am one morning when I couldn’t sleep. Tweaking around with Canva, it didn’t take me long to come up with it and before I knew it I had generated Twitter Headers and Facebook Cover Photos to match. Hours later and some faffing with my theme and a few tweaks to the layout and the makeover was complete. It’s a shame that was followed by a morning of server issues, but we can’t have it all can we?!
I’m so pleased I took a leap of faith because I am beyond happy with the result and have only had nothing but positive feedback. I shall miss the old Playlist Script font, but we had a good innings! It served me well.

I think it looks great! My eyes prefer designs that are simple, fresh and clean. I think people/readers can be outnumbered off by “cluttered” or “busy” home pages. Well done! Love Canva ☺️ #TriumphantTales

I know what you mean about finding the time. I spend ages doing other stuff and changing layout always seems to be bottom of my list.

#triumphanttales this is interesting because it shows how we over analyse everything as bloggers – the look, the brand, obviously the words, the photo quality, its never ending and all that really matters is our own happiness which i can see pouring through your blog lovely. I love it, like you said it looks so fresh and so clean! I was thinking of attempting to re-do mine near christmas when its the quiet period but then again I will have a newborn then so being up all night wont be an issue haha #triumphanttales

The blog makeover looks fab Jaki. I’m always messing around on Canva but I just can’t seem to come up with a logo etc that I like. I’ve lost count of how many I’ve had so far.. I’m actually thinking if commissioning someone to design one for me at this point 😩 #TriumphantTales
