Take Time For You — 4 Beauty Treatments To Try

I’m a huge believer that it’s extremely important to remember that you are more than just a Mum. You can see that my slogan is Being Mum, Being Me and that is just what I try to remind fellow Mums in a lot of my blog posts.

In the hustle and bustle of parenting life, it’s so easy to get caught up in it all and forget that you too are a person. It can be easy to keep putting our little people first so often that we forget about ourselves. Sometimes this can happen to the point that we forget who we are completely. Taking time out to treat ourselves to some ‘me time’ is so important. This could be anything. It could be an afternoon browsing the shops. A quiet bath. Reading for a couple of hours with no interruptions. But if you fancy a bit of a pamper session, I’ve come up with a list of beauty treatments to try the next time you have the opportunity.

Get lashes that flutter

This is a particular favourite of mine! If there is one thing that has assisted in my morning routine it’s my lash extensions. I started getting them a couple of years ago and I haven’t looked back. I literally wake up looking like this! Individual extensions get some bad rep but if you got to a reputable and recommended lash technician, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy luscious lashes.

If you don’t fancy extensions, you could think about a lash lift. Lash lifts usually include lifts, curls and tints on natural lashes for a lengthening and thickening effect that lasts up to 8 weeks. It’s a great way to have some time to yourself too because you just lie back and relax for half an hour or so. It sounds like bliss to me!

Banish that unwanted body hair

This is the 21st century and it’s no secret that us ladies have hair that we want to get rid of! It’s an ongoing joke that during the winter months, many of us don’t bother if we don’t have to get our legs out, but what about the other unwanted body hair that we want to remove all year around. Wouldn’t it be great if we could just get rid of it once and for all?

If this sounds like something you might be interested in then perhaps you could consider laser hair removal? Laser hair removal is the deliberate removal of body hair using the technology of laser.

Using laser light pulses to selectively destroy hair follicles laser hair removal targets the melanin in them. It is the pigment in the hair follicle that then absorbs the laser’s light pulse. This, in turn, damages the follicle enough to significantly retard hair regrowth.

For anyone who struggles with unwanted body hair and wants to rid themselves on the daily chore of hair removal, this could be the perfect place to start, and what better way to make you feel good about yourself?

Embrace glowing skin

There can be nothing more satisfying than catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror when you have a little bit more colour. Spray tans don’t only give you a little holiday confidence but they can be embraced all year round. They slim limbs and help cover up any little thread veins.

Spray tans aren’t as expensive as some beauty treatments and many people get them regularly. Just don’t forget to exfoliate and moisturise so that you keep your glowing skin looking tip-top for as long as possible!

Feel good with fillers

As far as beauty treatments go, this might be a bit of the extreme end of the scale for some of you reading this, but I wanted to add it as it’s something that has made me feel great about myself this year.

I had the opportunity to work with a local aesthetics clinic earlier on in the year and I decided that I wanted to try lip fillers. I had always hated my top lip because it was so non-existent and I can honestly say that after getting filler put in my top lip I am so much happier with how they look. Other people would not have known it was an issue, but I didn’t do it for them. I did it for myself and I haven’t looked back since. In fact, it’s my new ‘thing’!

You might not want fillers, and that’s okay. Perhaps you would like to get rid of that furrowed brow, or the fine lines around your eyes. Aesthetics treatments aren’t as scary as they sound and they can work wonders for your self-confidence. If it’s something you really want to do then go for it. Just make sure you do your research and go to a reputable practitioner.
