Selfie Phone Clip – A Review…

18 June 2016 3 min read

Shortly before I went on holiday I was given the opportunity to review a Selfie Phone Clip. Knowing we were going away on a lovely sunny holiday, I jumped at the chance. Who doesn’t love taking a good selfie, especially when you have an amazing backdrop?!

The product, designed and produced by Paladone.com was kindly sent to me & packed in my suitcase ready to be put to good use at the other end of our journey to beautiful Portugal.

It’s a bit like a selfie stick. But far more discreet & far easier to slip into your handbag (or in my case, beach bag!)  It’s a specially designed wide angled lense that clips on to your smartphone – back or front facing camera.

It comes packaged in a nicely designed box showing before and after shots, and inside is the clip, a lens cap and a storage bag. Basically, when you open it up? You’re ready to go.

On showing it to my Mr, he was keen to give it a go too. This was ideal as I have an iPhone 6 Plus whilst he has a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. So here, you’re getting two reviews for the price of one…!

I was immediately taken with this little gadget because when it comes to taking selfies, whether for a family shot, group shot or even couple shot, someone else always has to do it for me because my arms just aren’t long enough. Not good when you want control over which picture gets to be kept…!

So. The first pictures are from the Samsung. Standard shots without, and then with the lense. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you which is which.

Ultimately it’s a little disappointing. But on further investigation it’s because the lense on the Samsung is pretty blimmin awesome anyway. The selfie clip lense kind of gets in the way of what is essentially an amazing camera. In a nutshell. You don’t need it. If it ain’t broken, don’t try and fix it!

The iPhone 6 Plus however… take a look…

I think you’ll agree it does an incredible job. It gives me far more scope. It gets us all in when I want to take those ever special family shots to keep in the memory box. And finally …I CAN TAKE THE PICTURE! At last!

I loved it that much that I just HAD to get down to the beach to take some more!

What I also like about it is that you can even use it when you have a case on your phone – which let’s be honest, most of us do. So there’s no faffing at all when you want to use it. Just whip it out, pop it on and off you go. I’ve included a picture to show you how it looks on the phone.

The clip can be bought from iwantoneofthose.com for just £6.99! It’s a steal!

You can also check out Paladone on Twitter too. They’re super lovely people. I’d also like to thank them for giving me the chance to review this awesome little gadget. It’s certainly going to be a staple in my bag when I go out from now on. Because you never know when you might need to take a super selfie shot…

Thanks for reading…

Interesting. Looks like it gives an odd sort of fish eye lens effect. Can’t make up my mind if I like it or not but didn’t know there was an alternative to the selfie stick!

This looks like a great idea, to enhance your holiday snaps for keeping treasured memories. I love how it uses the lense of your phone, and makes the shot wider allowing more to be displayed in the picture. I hope you got some great pictures from holiday, the beach looks lovely. Thanks so much for joining us this week at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x

I’ve just bought one… Dying to try it out.. But how do you get the cap off? I’ve tried screwing it off… Pulling it off.. Shouldn’t be this difficult! Help! X

I’m sure it wasn’t that tricky. I’ll have to check and come back to you. Unless you’ve sussed it since then? X

Hey.. No I still haven’t managed to get it off. Unsure if it’s supposed to pull off or screw off. X

I’ve just checked and it just pulls off. It takes a bit of wiggling to begin with but it should just pop off. If you have trouble I’d get in touch with Paladone, I’m sure they would arrange a replacement. x
