Female empowerment is pretty full on at the moment, and rightly so. Yet still, so many of us feel we aren’t good enough. So many of us feel we aren’t pretty enough, or thin enough, or clever enough or strong enough. This needs to stop. It’s time to #SayNoToShiny.
Aby Moore of You Baby Me Mummy and Ceri Gillett of This Welsh Mother have launched the #SayNoToShiny campaign ahead of this year’s International Women’s Day on 8th March 2018. Their mission is to collaborate with 1000 women online, with the intention of impacting 1 million more women.
How? I hear you ask.
It’s so easy. I”m getting involved and so can you. We want you to post a picture of your face on social media with the hashtag #SayNoToShiny as our stand against a culture of perfection. It’s that simple.
There is a fabulous promo video that you can watch below. The song was specially recorded for this campaign by the super talented Lucy Bishop Of Mrs Bishops Bakes and Banter.
Please spread the word before 8th March to your family and friends and get them involved too, so we can get even more women involved in #SayNoToShiny on 8th March and make a real impact for women everywhere.

It’s our time to rise ladies. It’s time to say that we are enough. Please add your voice & pledge to add your face on 8th March 2018.
Add your pledge here. We look forward to seeing your beautiful face on the day!

This is so important. As we are raising the next generation of little girls who will become women. We need them to know perfection is an illusion. A healthy woman is far greater than a touched up perfect image. #triumpanttales
