School Holiday Happiness – Cotswold Lavender

As you read this we will have reached the end of the first week of our first ever six week summer holidays. And with any luck, we will have survived! We have had a lovely week and despite it being so hot, I’m so pleased that the weather has held. I was convinced that the minute the bell rang last Friday it would start raining, and even though we need it, it’s been nice that it’s held off.

On Monday this week, we visited Cotswold Lavender at Snowshill, near Broadway. Nestled in the Cotswolds and just a short drive from home, it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and visit. Not only is it a bloggers rite of passage, getting those all-important lavender field photographs, it made a nice change to do something that wasn’t ridiculously expensive, and that was close to home.

It was great to get out and about and spend time with my wonderful Mum. I knew she would enjoy it, so was thrilled when she said she would like to come with us. And of course, Little Man was over the moon too.

I didn’t even know there are so many different types of lavender! Every day certainly is a school day! And who knew there was lavender that was white?!

We were lucky to visit the Cotswold lavender fields before they finished harvesting. They have already done a lot and will be doing the rest very soon. I’m certainly going to be putting a reminder in my calendar to go again next year. Who knows whether we will be as lucky with the weather though?

We couldn’t end the trip without a lavender selfie! I don’t get many photos with my Mum, so this one is special.

Have you been to a lavender field this year? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear where you have been.
