I have done more tags in the last few weeks than I have done in a whole year. It’s great to be included and I thank all of the lovely bloggers out there that have thought about me. This week big thanks goes to Laura from Wafflemama and Sarah from Whimsical Musings for tagging me in this extra special tag – 10 Ways In Which I Am Rocking Motherhood. What a privilege to be included.
If truth be told, I had been kind of dreading being tagged in this one. Whilst it’s really lovely and I am super grateful. I am AWFUL at bigging myself up. I’m sat here and have just muttered the words to my boys “I need your help with this one”.
So the Rocking Motherhood tag is where we tell you ten ways in which we are nailing Motherhood. It’s tough, because in all honesty, I don’t know one Mum out there that doesn’t think she’s messing it up on a regular basis. So, it may take me a while, but I’m going to give this a go.
- Hugs – apparently I am the best at ‘huggles’. I love hugging him as much as he loves hugging me, so this is never a problem!
- I tell him I love him all day every day – probably too much if that’s even possible!
- I treat him to little things whenever I can – again, not sure if this is a good thing. If I am at the shops and I see something I know he would love, I just can’t help myself! I think this is only natural.
- I play with my Little Man as much as I can – he tells me I’m great at it. It can be boring as hell – we all know this, but I try my best with him. I think this is especially important because he is an only child.
- I am there for him morning, noon and night – If he needs me at 3 in the morning I’m there in a shot – because I sleep with one ear open. This very often means I function on a daily basis on very little sleep. But this is what you do as a Mum. It doesn’t always stop when they stop being babies. This is one thing I think a lot of first time Mum’s are unaware of.
- I chose to work around him – I could have gone back to work full time, I mean we could have done with the money, but I chose to work part time so that I could be there for him as much as possible. My hours will be perfect when he begins school in September, I will be able to drop him off, pick him up AND work in the middle. I realise how lucky I am to do that and many Mums would do anything to be in that position.
- He is always in lovely clean clothes – I could never let him out of the house in dirty clothes and he is a real trendy little boy. I love shopping for boys clothes – whilst my biggest bug bear is that there is never a much of a selection of boys clothes as there is girls, he always looks so cool. With his skinny jeans and long sleeve t-shirts in the Winter and his denim shorts and t-shirts in the Summer, I am always quite proud that he looks like a real cute little boy.
- I try to feed him well – Little Man is dreadful with food and will only eat a select amount of food. I try not to stress about it even though it worries me daily. I know he will probably grow out of it, but for the time being I just have to go with it. I encourage him to try new things as much as I can. But I can’t force him. I can only do my best.
- Making memories – I try to make as many memories for him as possible. I take photos as and when I can. He loves to look through them and tell me what he remembers. This can be from holidays to days out to simple afternoons at home. I love that he can look back on these things fondly.
- I’d move Heaven and Earth for him – if I needed to. I would do anything to make him happy. He’s my whole world and his happiness is the most important thing in the world.
Oh my goodness that was so hard. I dread to think how long I’ve been sat staring into space whilst writing this one.
We are so good and quick to put ourselves down when it comes to being a Mum, thinking of the positive things can be really tricky! But having looked back over this little list, I guess I’m not doing too bad a job at all!

I now tag the lovely Lianne at The Brunette Says, if she would like to take part.
