It’s hard to believe that half term is here again already. This year certainly seems to be flying by. It’s been a while since I shared a Places To Go in Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds so this week I thought I would share somewhere great to take the kids this half term – Hatton Adventure World.
Hatton Adventure World is located in Warwickshire and is about a fifteen-minute drive from Stratford upon Avon. It’s a great open space for kids with lots of different things to do and a programme that changes seasonally, so each time you go, there is something different to see and do. For example, at Easter, there will be egg and bunny hunts, in October there are free pumpkins during their Hallowe’en festival and there is the Enchanted Christmas Kingdom in December.
As well as a great programme of events, at Hatton Adventure World, they have lots of indoor activities, farmyard animals, a guinea pig farm, laser combat, fun fair rides, a tractor safari, falconry demonstrations, trampolines, swings, sandpits, slides and so much more. Let’s not forget a lovely restaurant and gift shop. On top of all of that, there is a great array of shops for Mum and Dad to look around too.
Between the 27th May and 4th June, Hatton Adventure World are hosting a Pirate Festival. We were invited to go along and I knew immediately that it would be something that the Little Man would enjoy.
There are three pirate shows on throughout the day and we decided to book on the first one of the day. The show takes place in a marquee and is fabulously decked out to look like a pirate ship. The show itself is really good. Very entertaining and nicely interactive – without being too much. As a parent, sometimes shows like this can be a little on the dull side, but I can safely say that this was not one of those. I really enjoyed it and the twenty-minute show flew by. Little Man really enjoyed it, which is always a winner!
It was great to have the opportunity to have a photo with the Pirates before collecting some ‘booty’ on the way out (chocolate coins to you and me!) The staff were great with the kids visiting and were really welcoming. There isn’t just the show to entertain everyone though. There are Pirate battles, treasure hunts and panning for gold.
When we set off that morning it was really sunny but sadly as the day went on the clouds came in and brought with them a chilly breeze. I can imagine Hatton Adventure World is absolutely perfect for a full day’s fun with a nice picnic. With so much for the children to do in safe surroundings, I really can see us going back there when we can guarantee a nice warm, sunny day.
