An Overnight Stay (and Wedding) At Warwickshire Walton Hall and Spa

Last weekend we were lucky enough to be invited to a good friend’s beautiful wedding. As if that was a privilege enough in itself, we were also invited by Shakespeare’s England, to a complimentary stay at the venue at which it was being held, the stunning Warwickshire Walton Hall and Spa.

Walton Hall is situated just outside of Wellesbourne, near Warwick. There is the more modern hotel and there is also a separate 16th Century Grade II listed Hall. This is where we spent our day and evening and were fortunate enough to sleep overnight.

In total there are 149 standard bedrooms and 11 apartments situated in the hotel. There are also 37 superior rooms and suites that are located in the listed building. And my oh my are they superior, but we will get to that in a little while.

The hotel and hall really are the most idyllic setting for a wedding. There are 65 acres of beautiful countryside surrounding Walton Hall which is perfect for those beautiful wedding photos. Of course, when planning your big day, it’s also worth considering wedding photographer prices to make sure your budget covers capturing the memories as beautifully as the setting itself.

Not to mention the stunning building that can also make the photographs that little bit more wonderful.

The rooms that are used for the weddings are simply stunning. With classy decor and open spaces, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time there. The high ceilings and beautiful candelabra were pretty breathtaking and I couldn’t stop looking around.

My favourite part of the hotel was the Hall reception area. Again, the high ceilings and the sensational decor was such a pleasure to look at it. You only have to look at these pictures to see why I was so taken by it.

Obviously, as we were there for a wedding, we didn’t get to our room straight away, so were kept in suspense. The room was available to us from 2.30pm, so when there was a little break in the proceedings (of which by the way, the food was delicious!), we took the opportunity to go and get our room key and take a look at our digs for the night.

Well, let’s just say, a room like this cannot, under any circumstances, be called ‘digs’. I was blown away.

The photos you see before you are those of a superior suite located in the 16th Century part of the building. In addition to this huge space, we had a Nespresso machine, TV and telephone, bathrobes, slippers and executive toiletries. Speaking of toiletries, take a look at the bathroom.

Complete with a beautiful bath tub and delightful shower, this bathroom was the king of all bathrooms. On top of all of this, the room had stunning views over the vast countryside before us. We really did feel so lucky last weekend as we got to enjoy our friend’s beautiful wedding and stay in such a stunning bedroom, sorry….suite!

As you can imagine, it was a long day, as weddings generally are, so it was great to have somewhere to go when the opportunity arose to have a ten-minute rest and freshen up (much needed for the husband after copious amounts of fun on the bouncy castle provided for the adults!). And then when the time came to finally get to sleep at silly o’clock in the morning, we were practically swallowed up by the most huge but comfortable bed. We slept so well that night!

Breakfast the next morning did not disappoint in the slightest. I was ready for a serious carb and protein intake and so, of course, I opted for the Full English Breakfast. Served buffet style, you could help yourself to as much or as little as you wanted. There was also fresh fruit of every variety available as well as cereal. I have never seen such a variety of food available for breakfast. It didn’t disappoint either. I ate every mouthful. It was delicious.

I really cannot praise Walton Hall enough. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and just wish we could have had one more night. When it’s that good, you want to be greedy!

I want to say a huge thank you to Walton Hall for inviting us to stay and for such wonderful hospitality.

And of course, I couldn’t possibly end this blog without thanking the gorgeous bride and groom, Laura and Mike, for inviting us to be such a big part of your special day. The day was wonderful. You both looked fabulous and it was one of the best weddings we have ever been to! We had an amazing time and wish you all the love and happiness for your future together.
