7 Ways To Refresh The Bedroom And Welcome Springtime

Although the weather here in the UK hasn’t exactly been consistent so far this Springtime, the lighter nights have arrived and it definitely feels like brighter and warmer days are on their way. Last year I wrote a post about making your bedroom cosy and ready for Autumn. Well this year I’m back to do the opposite. Whilst it’s nice to feel cosy in your bedroom during the warmer months, it’s still nice to freshen it up and make it brighter and breezier.

I’m fortunate enough to be redecorating my bedroom ready for Spring – this very weekend in fact! But you don’t have to redecorate the whole room to give it a new feel. There are a few little things that you can do to give it a Spring makeover, and it needn’t cost you the earth.

Brighter bed linen and curtains

7 Ways To Refresh The Bedroom And Welcome Springtime

If you have neutral coloured walls, like most of us do, there is nothing stopping you from treating yourself to new bed linen and curtains in a fresh bright design. This will instantly lift the mood of the room and straight away, it will feel like a new room.

Greenery in the window or flowers on the dresser

7 Ways To Refresh The Bedroom And Welcome Springtime

Fresh bright green plants in the bedroom window make the room feel more vibrant. If like me, you aren’t great at keeping them alive, you can treat yourself to a bunch of flowers and have them sitting on your dressing table or chest of drawers. Flowers cheer everyone up. What better thing to look at first thing in the morning?

New cushions

Make your bed super inviting with some brand new cushions – or even new covers on existing ones! Bright colours that make the room look light and breezy. To make your bed seem even more cosy and inviting, maybe a new mattress is all you need. Check out Leesa for some great comfy mattress options, if you’re looking. I’ve got one and I have to say, they are incredible. You can read my review here.

New wall art

If you can’t decorate the walls with paint, then why not decorate them with some new wall art? Paintings, prints or canvasses can really revive a room when it’s feeling a little tired.

Adding mirrors to any room instantly makes it bigger and brighter. Whether this is wardrobes with mirrors on, or simply putting them on the wall, immediately you will make the room feel twice the size and twice as bright.

Soft Lighting

With the dark nights a distant memory, change up your bedroom lighting to the more delicate kind. Subtle background lighting for when the sun finally goes down will be enough to keep your room feeling homely, yet bright.

A thinner duvet

Is there anything more annoying than not being able to sleep when the nights are warmer? Exchange your winter duvet for a lower tog and get a better nights sleep straight away.
What will you be doing to brighten up your bedroom this Springtime?

We recently added similar touches to our space for photos to put it on the market. It definitely changed the whole feel of the place. The lighting probably made the biggest difference. #ThatFridayLinky

Changing the wall decor is something that we do occasionally and it really does make a different, reasonably cheaply too! #pocolo

I love flowers in the spring. My favourite change though is fresh Spring air through an open window. Nothing beats it. #TriumphantTales

Just in the middle of refreshing our bedroom for Spring/Summer. Eventually putting up some shelves and pictures (it’s only taken 18 months!) and changing our winter duvet and covers for some bright fresh Summer colours.#triumphanttales

Flowers are my favourite way to add energy to anywhere. I’ve also just gone through my photos and ordered some large prints to display in our new hall way. I didn’t realise I had so many that I loved and really tell a story of our travels. #TriumphantTales

I would love to have a little plant of some kind in the bedroom window, but hubby suffers with hayfever so that’s out lol.

This is my little project over the next couple of weeks. The kids bedrooms take priority and my poor room gets neglected so I’m going to give it a little bit of love and these hints are really helpful! #triumphanttales

love the images you’ve used for inspiration but i sadly find the shape and layout of my rooms is never reflected. I do have summer and winter bedding, but it’s very similar in colours, i love the idea of next time going yellow and adding a splash of colour to the greys i tend to prefer. #TriumphantTales
