Guest Blogger Series: The Beauty Baker – Things That Help Me Keep Calm

Well here we are. The JakiJellz Guest Blogger series has lift off! I’m so pleased that we’ve managed to get this started in January – the start of a new year. I’ve had a brilliant response so far, so a big thank you to everyone who has been in touch about getting involved. As I mentioned in the introductory post, I plan on running this once on a month, on the last Friday. This is of course, subject to change, if I get a lot of interest, I will increase it to every fortnight, so watch this space. If you want to get involved, drop me a message by filling in the form on my Contact Me page. I look forward to hearing from you.

Without further ado, it’s over to my first guest blogger, Siobhan who blogs at The Beauty Baker.

The Beauty Baker - Ways To Keep Calm

Things That Help Me Keep Calm

I’ve been an anxious person for as long as I can remember and I probably always will be so it’s nice having some sort of routine that calms you down. I know everyone is different so some of the things that helps calm me down might not work for you or might even do the completely opposite (hopefully not!)

Have a cuppa
I’m one of those people that thinks a cuppa can change the world, it just really helps me relax and unwind. Plus the fact that it warms up my tummy is a bonus too.

Binge watch something on Netflix
If you’re stressed because of studying or procrastinating I probably wouldn’t recommend doing this one since it’s going to mostlikely make you worse. Just doing nothing in my jammies, on the settee, binge watching most likely Gilmore Girls (again,) really makes me feel better.

Walk
I have this weird hobby where I tend to walk around my dining room table listening to music when I’m anxious and I have no idea why, I’ve always done it. But it does really walk for me and so does any other kind of exercise.

Have a nap
I just love having a nap, got a problem? Have a nap.

Listen to music
Just listening to music even when you’re not anxious is great, but I love the fact it can transport you to a different world.

Write lists
I tend to write lists for everything which makes me feel calmer, I just love the feeling of ticking something off of a to do list. Plus with lists it tends to make sure that I don’t forget something and do things on time!
