I don’t know about you but the thought of soft play fills me with utter dread. I’m not ashamed to admit that I can’t stand it. It’s just one of those things that as a parent we have to endure because the kids bloody love it don’t they?
I live about six miles from Stratford upon Avon. I’m sure you’ve heard of it. It’s one of the most famous towns in the world and one of the most visited thanks to some guy called Shakespeare. Anyhow, I digress. There’s no big soft play attraction in Stratford, we always have to travel further afield. So when Jungle Town opened last year, I was excited to finally have somewhere to take the little man, and it was practically on my doorstep.

The beauty of this place is that it isn’t a soft play (thank goodness!). It’s a child sized town that is totally based on role play. There is a cafe, grocery store, building site, hairdressing salon, doctors surgery and some great fancy dress items. There’s even a small section for babies if you take a toddler and baby to the same session.
I took Ethan yesterday afternoon for the first time in ages and as always it was a challenge to get him away. He really loves it there. With it’s bright, vibrant colours and vast amounts of toys, it’s a child’s dream. It’s the most perfectly equipped playroom, it’s no wonder that the kids don’t want to leave.
If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Stratford and need somewhere to entertain the little ones, I really would recommend Jungle Town. They have two sessions, morning and afternoon and in between the two, the areas are tidied and replenished so that it’s lovely and tidy for the next influx of little visitors. It’s so refreshing being able to play with all of these toys with your little people and not have to tidy up after yourself!
Jungle Town is located within Stratford Garden Centre on the B4632 and is open seven days a week. Entry is £5.50 and you can even book in advance to avoid disappointment and any of those horrible toddler tantrums we are all too familiar with. They cater for parties too! I’ve not been there for one or used their services in the past but it really is something I’d consider.
