Oxfam’s Dressed By The Kids Day 2017

Oxfam's Dressed By The Kids Day 2017

On Friday 16th June 2017, Oxfam are holding their ‘Dressed By The Kids Day’.  Sounds a little crazy right? Maybe, but it will also be a lot of fun!

Grown Ups all over the UK will be letting the children in their lives (so no excuse if you’re not a parent!) dress them for a day.

How does it work?

It’s as simple as the name of the day suggests! You let your kids dress you, in any way they choose (oh yes!) and you go about your day. But obviously we want to raise some money here, so Oxfam is asking you to get sponsored to do so. Obviously, there may be situations or circumstances where a clown outfit, or your wedding dress, won’t be suitable, so you can put certain restrictions on it, but the idea is to have fun with it. So, go with your gut!

Why do this?

Oxfam is a huge charity who raise money for those in the world that have less than what we have. Below is a list of just some of the things they have raised money for.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Where does your money go?

For every £1 that is donated to Oxfam, a massive 82p goes directly to emergency, development and campaigning work. 10p is spent on support costs and 8p is invested in generating future revenue.

IN JUST 15 YEARS EXTREME POVERTY HAS BEEN HALVED. IN 15 MORE WE CAN END IT FOR GOOD. Find out how

Dressed By The Kids

So Oxfam’s fantastic fundraising day ‘Dressed By The Kids‘, is just one of the ways you can get involved and have a bit of fun whilst raising some money for an amazing cause. Take a look at this video.

Literally, anyone can sign up. Grown Ups and even Teachers can get involved and make a great day of it at school. Grown-ups can sign up here and Teachers and schools can sign up here. The Dressed By The Kids website has a wealth of information about the day, including a fundraising guide, posters, badges and even an activity sheet for your kids to do.

But you have to be quick! The sign-up deadline is Sunday, 11th June! So what are you waiting for?! Make your kids day by letting them make you look a bit daft and then relish in the thought you’ve done your bit for charity, and had a damn good time doing so!
