The dreaded children’s party
I think it’s one of the things a lot of parents dread. The children’s birthday party. I speak for myself at the very least but I am pretty certain I’m not alone.
As with anything these days, there’s the pressure of getting it just right. The pressure of making sure all of the kids have a great time and of course the pressure of making sure you don’t forget anything on the day.
One of my biggest bug bears and stresses for the party is always party bags. I’ve done only two parties in the past where I’ve needed to put bags together and I never know what to put in them. It’s always extra tricky when you have a range of ages aswell – as we do. Ethan has friends as young as two and as old as nine. It’s a dilemma and it’s tricky to please them all.
Party Bags and Supplies
When I came across Party Bags and Supplies a few months ago, I was thrilled when they were interested in working with me.
Party Bags and Supplies are exactly what it says on the tin. Everything you could possibly need for your party. From decorations to table wear and from games to fancy dress. They supply pretty much everything.
I opted for a Disney Cars/Lightning McQueen theme for my little man’s birthday party this year and so we ordered the pre-filled party bags and the table wear kit which included cups, plates, serviettes and a tablecloth.
I also decorated the house with other Cars related decorations and the kids played a Cars themed game similar to Pin The Tail On The Donkey.
I was so impressed with the party bags. They were contents suitable for all ages and it was one less thing to think about when in all honesty, hosting a party in itself is stressful enough.
Most things in the table wear packs come in packs of eight and for a very reasonable amount. You can have a look at what collections are available here.
I was so pleased with how everything looked.
Carol’s Cake Toppers
I’d left the cake a little bit last-minute and so had to look at ways I could get an awesome looking cake, in keeping with my theme, without breaking the bank. I ended up buying a Photo Me cake from Morrison’s and bought a personalised topper from eBay from a seller called Carols Cake Toppers. Carol was so helpful and got the topper to me in super fast time.
My biggest faux par of the day was forgetting to take a photo of the fantastic cake I ended up with – I’m seriously kicking myself about this! But if you check out Carol’s Ebay Page, you will get an idea of how you can get a cool looking cake without having to spend a fortune.
As most parents do, we didn’t have Ethan’s party on his actual birthday, we had it a couple of days later on the weekend. I knew I had this great cake lined up for the party but you can’t let a birthday go by without having candles to blow out! I teamed up with Baker Days who – get this – post out cakes that will fit through the letter box! They personalise them to your choosing and deliver them on a day you need them. We had a nice small cake that was just enough to have with birthday tea on his special day – and it was delicious!
Bakerdays is a Personalised Celebration Cake Specialist, providing quality personalised cakes for all occasions. The delicious range of recipes and sizes are available for delivery 6 days a week, and if you order before 2pm, bakerdays can deliver the very next day! You can find Bakerdays at the following places: Bakerdays website, Facebook and Twitter.
Overall, little man’s birthday weekend was a success. Now we just need to try to calm him down before the chaos of Christmas starts and we will be welcoming mayhem all over again!
