DIY Bircher Muesli – A Review With Moma Foods

DIY Bircher Muesli – A Review With Moma Foods

I’ve had a ‘new husband’ over the last few months. Not literally. Just one that seems to have chucked the chocolate and binned the biscuits in favour for regular trips to the gym and plates full of couscous and chicken in place of pizza and chips. It’s been a learning curve for him as he’s learnt all about the right and wrong things to eat. When MOMA Foods got in touch and asked if we would like to try out their new DIY Bircher Muesli – I instantly thought of him.

Of course he jumped at the chance.

The DIY Bircher Muesli is for those who want to be adventurous and creative when it comes to their breakfast – or snacks! They’re also a great alternative to overnight oats. We were sent a 400g box of the raspberry and coconut muesli. Following the instructions on the box, we added 50g of yogurt to 50g of muesli and splashed in 70ml of apple juice. We stirred it together and then we waited.

After five minutes the muesli is ready to eat. On first impressions my husband thought the muesli was really very nice. The yogurt makes the muesli far less dry and the apple juice gives it the sweetness it needs. He actually thinks he could have added a little more apple juice to suit his taste – obviously this is trial and error and he’s keen to try it again to get the ratio just right. He’s also keen to try it with a different low fat yogurt, to see what flavours he can come up with. Most importantly the DIY Muesli was filling.

What the husband likes about this is the time it takes to prepare. The ‘five minute wait’ time is ideal when you have small children and animals to feed. Whilst the muesli is soaking, it will give him time to get essential morning jobs done (meaning less for me to do – always a bonus!)

All in all, we were very impressed with the muesli and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to mix up their breakfast routine. If you’d like to know more, have a look at Moma Food’s website for all the different kinds of breakfasts they offer including porridge and breakfast smoothies.

This is a collaborative post. I was supplied with the product for the purpose of the review but all thoughts and opinions are that of mine and my husband’s.
