This year is going so fast, it’s really hard to believe that Father’s Day is just around the corner. I don’t know about you but I really struggle to find gifts for both my own Dad and my husband, for a gift from the Little Man. I like to find gifts that are a little unusual and not straight off the shelf in a shop. That can be tricky!
I’ve spent many an hour in the past, scrolling through websites and trawling the shelves in my local shops trying to find something that is a little bit different from the normal socks, books or chocolate. But is it just me or are some men really difficult to buy for? But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t put thought into what we buy them. It just needs a bit of imagination and I’m here to inspire you!
I’ve concluded that there are three factors worth considering when shopping for the big men in our lives. Thoughtful gifts, gifts that relate to a hobby or interest, or a personalised gift. I’ve come up with some ideas for all of these.
Thoughtful Gifts
Dad’s love to be told how much they mean to us just as much as Mum’s do, that’s why I think it’s always nice to add the sentimental touch to a gift. Think gifts that you can tell a story with, or tell him what you love about him. Take a look at these ideas.
These gifts are so unusual and any Dad would appreciate receiving them on Father’s Day. They are something they can keep for years to come and something they can look back on with fond memories – and they’re far better for the waistline than those chocolates you were thinking about buying!
You can see more gifts for men like these ones on this page: https://www.uncommongoods.com/gifts/fathers-day-gifts/fathers-day-gifts
Gifts for hobbies and interests
Another idea for a Father’s Day gift would be to think about what hobbies or interests he may have? This really shows that you’ve thought about his likes, dislikes and what he might like to receive. From food loving Dads, to sport loving Dads – you could even get him something that involves his favourite tipple – I’m sure he’ll appreciate that after a hard day of playing Dad’s Taxi!
I love how these items are so unusual yet so in keeping with particular hobbies or interests that Dads may have. They’re also the sort of gifts that other family members can get involved in which is even better. Remember these are just a few ideas and you can see lots more of Father’s Day ideas, just like these on this page. You’ll be surprised at just what is available!
Gifts with a personal touch
You can buy any old thing off the shelf, but nothing is a nicer keepsake than something that has been especially made for your very own Dad. Something that he will keep and treasure forever and perhaps something he can keep with him on a daily basis.
Come on – we couldn’t go through this whole post without getting socks in there somewhere! In fact it’s a standing joke in our house – if the Little Man doesn’t give Daddy socks as part of one of his gifts, Mummy gets in trouble! It’s become tradition – thankfully it’s not an expensive one!
When you look hard enough, there are a multitude of gifts that you can find that are unique and different for you to show your Dad just how special he is on Father’s Day. And every other day of the year for that matter. It’s just knowing where to look.
So where do I look?
All of these fabulous gifts that I’ve shared with you today can be bought from a company called UncommonGoods. They are based in Brooklyn in New York. They certainly are gifts that you won’t find anywhere else here in the UK . The best thing about them? They even ship overseas, so you can shop with them to your hearts content.
UncommonGoods were founded in 1999. They are a privately-owned retailer that endeavors to feature unique jewelry, designer décor, tabletop items, and handcrafted gifts created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people. UncommonGoods have been awarded for outstanding customer service every year since 2007. In 2015, they achieved the BizRate Platinum Circle of Excellence award, their highest achievement level yet.
I think you’ll agree that there are some brilliant ideas here and many more on the website. Take a look and get great gifts for men at UncommonGoods here. I honestly don’t think you will be disappointed.

Popping over from #TriumphantTales to say Hi. with 4 men in the family, personalised socks would’ve helped greatly, as they all prefer black ones and no one ever had any socks
