Our April…

I used to do weekly blogs but I’ve decided I want to do a little monthly summary each month now instead. They won’t be too long and tedious, but it’s nice to keep a record of what we do each month.

Around the time I started blogging again we had a really nice trip for our little family of three to Charlecote Park. Anyone who’s been a ‘follower’ of mine for some time, may or may not know that we live in the Stratford upon Avon area and so this little trip wasn’t far for us to travel at all.

We joined the National Trust last year as we wanted to take advantage of the unlimited visits to all of the NT properties. For a small amount each month we can get up and go on a day out without worrying about the cost on the day. Come rain or shine, EJ likes to be outside running around and whether he’s wearing wellies or shorts, or both(!) the NT gardens are the perfect place for him to go and let off some steam – and boy to three year olds need to let off steam!

He had  a great time, he made toast on an open fire and we bought him a ‘bug backpack’ as he’s been learning about ‘miniature beasties’ at nursery school so the last part of the trip was spent looking for slugs and snails and such like.

If you are interested in the National Trust and what their membership has to offer, you can check out their website here. This isn’t a sponsored post, the NT is just something I’d highly recommend to families.

The little fella has been slightly off colour recently and he worried us one night (why is it ALWAYS in the middle of the night?!) when he had a temperature that reached over 40°c. We managed to get it down and a trip to the doctors the next day revealed nothing sinister, just typical viral symptoms. The days that followed produced a cough with a rattle that I think was probably all connected. Lots of cuddles and snuggles and he’s nearly back to his happy self – well, when he’s not having a tantrum! More on that here.

We visited our local market which we hadn’t been to for ages and went for lunch at the local airfield cafe. EJ loves going there to see all of the aeroplanes take off and land.

It was a quiet month other than the things I’ve mentioned. We’re off on our holidays at the beginning of June and so are trying to save a bit for that – never easy with a little one!

I’ve been back regular blogging now for a little over three weeks and it really does seem to have stuck this time. I moved to my own domain, got posts scheduled days in advance and have worked really hard at building up an audience. I’ve been taking part in Twitter chats, linked up my posts and everyone has been so supportive. I did a thank you post that a lot of you liked. If you’ve not read it, you can here.

That’s about it for April. See you back here for a May update and inbetween for those already scheduled posts….! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.
