Look, Smell and Feel like an Ashtray? Why More Smokers Are Turning To E-Cigs

There used to be a time when smoking cigarettes were considered the utmost in glamour. As long ago as the 1930s, Hollywood movies featured swarthy actors and swooning starlets who proudly puffed their way to cinematic glory. In the 21st century, analogue cigarettes are passe. Maybe that’s why more and more tobacco smokers are making the smart switch to E-cigs instead.

The good old glory days of cigarettes

Hollywood movie stars such as Marlene Dietrich, Marlon Brando, James Dean, and the Marlboro Man looked captivating and exciting with a cigarette between their lips, or at least that’s what the moviegoing public was led to believe.

In the 1955 teenage rebellion flick Rebel Without a Cause, handsome actor James Dean is rarely seen without a lit cigarette. Classic still images from the movie invariably show Dean with a red jacket, a pout, and a puff. In the mid-1950s, cigarette smoking among adults was entirely common. When teens lit up, it was a sure sign of youthful defiance, explains Paste magazine.

Catch a late-night viewing of the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s to see the ever elegant Audrey Hepburn take leisurely drags from the tip of her long black cigarette holder. Many women took up the habit after seeing that movie. And again, theatrical posters promoting the film featured the attractive star with her oh-so-chic cigarette. Even as recent as Sex And The City saw Carrie Bradshaw smoking while she pondered over her latest newspaper article.

Smoking may look cool, but it’s not good for you

You may have started smoking as a way to emulate a celeb you admired. Now that you’re an adult, you know better than to continue such an unhealthy habit. No, you don’t have to give up the sensation of smoking, and you can taper down your nicotine consumption at a pace that works for you. You can be more attractive and smell better, too, when you make the savvy switch to an e-cig or vaping device.

Vaping as a substitute for smoking

If you’re like a lot of people, you’ve made the smart decision to stop smoking cigarettes. Good for you. Now you’ll need to address the actual quitting process. A vape filled with Element E-liquid may be just the thing to tide you over during stressful moments as you wean yourself from tobacco. Expect the gnarliest parts of tobacco withdrawal to occur about two to five days after your last cigarette. If you have a vape on hand, and you use it to get a little bit of nicotine, you can probably make it through the moment. WebMD explains that symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, and irritability typically abate after several weeks.

Imagine licking the inside of a dirty ashtray. Gross, to be sure, but that’s what it is like to kiss someone who smokes cigarettes. There’s certainly nothing glamorous about that. E-cigs don’t produce hot smoke to stink up your breath. In fact, vaping doesn’t make smoke at all. Flavorful water vapours with or without nicotine provide an exceptionally simple way to ditch the analogue smoking habit once and for all.
